Standard design sealing ring with external metal surface, a metal reinforcement and a spring-energized elastomer sealing lip.
Operation
Type CS is a rotary shaft seal with an optional protective lip on the fluid contact area to prevent dirt from entering from the outside. The additional metal reinforcement gives the sealing ring more rigidity and the external metal coating ensures a secure fit. CS types have limited sealing ability against very low viscosity fluids or gases and in two-piece seats.
To ensure a high degree of static sealing on the external surface, an improved seat surface finish or an additional sealing paint layer on the external surface of the ring is required.
