Rod seal 18 made by Hallite. The seal consists of a U-shaped rubberized fabric base to which a BR base with a curvilinear base is vulcanized.
The Seal is preloaded on the section to ensure an effective low pressure sealing.
The strength and durability of the rubberized fabric combine with its ability to retain lubricant while keeping friction and wear to a minimum.
When subjected to pressure, the rubber part increases the sealing area and therefore its effectiveness.
If used on a piston, it should not be mounted in direct contact (back to back) with another 18 to create a double effect seal.
