The GUM range features a symmetrical lip profile used for both rod and piston seals of hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders. They are made of NBR 90 Shore A, and they have a sharp-edged sealing lip.
In some cases, the seals are fitted with a stop ring, which prevents their axial movement. The stop ring must not compress the seal in the housing, but must allow for a clearance of 0.5 to 1 mm. In the ring, it is also necessary to make a series of holes, the purpose of which is to distribute the pressurised fluid equally over the two sealing lips. In addition to the standard material, seals can be supplied in other compounds on request, for example: fkm(viton), epdm, VMQ(silicone).
