Rod Seals
Description
Rod seals are typically single-acting seals, which means fluid pressure acts from inside the cylinder on one side of the seal only. The pressure acting on the rod seal increases contact forces between the rod seal and cylinder surfaces. Therefore, rod seal materials should be wear resistant and the rod surface needs to be manufactured to the recommended specifications.
